Struggle of our life | English story
Once a daughter complained to her father that her life was pathetic and did not know how she was going to make it. She was tired of struggle and struggle all the time. It seemed that one problem had been solved, another one soon followed. Her father, a chef, took her to the kitchen. He filled three pitches with water and placed each on a high fire.
Once three pots started boiling, he put potatoes in one pot, eggs in the second pot and coffee beans in the third pot. He then let them sit and boil, without saying a word to his daughter. The daughter, mourning and waiting impatiently, wondered what he was doing. After twenty minutes he turned off the burner. He took the potato out of the pot and placed it in a bowl. He took out the eggs and placed them in a bowl. Then he took out the coffee and placed it in a cup.
Turning to him he asked. "Daughter, what do you see?" "Potatoes, eggs and coffee," he replied quickly.
"Look closer", he said, "and touch the potato." He did and said that they were soft.
He then told her to take an egg and break it. After pulling the shell, he observed hard-boiled eggs.
Finally, he asked her to drink coffee. Its rich aroma brought a smile to his face.
"Father, what does this mean?" He asked.
He then explained that potatoes, eggs, and coffee beans faced the same repulsiveness — boiling water. However, each reacted differently. The potato was strong, hard and unreliable, but in boiling water, it became soft and weak. The egg was fragile, with its outer covering covered in boiling water until it protected its liquid interior. Then the inside of the egg hardened. However, ground coffee beans were unique. After coming in contact with boiling water, they replaced the water and created something new.
"Who are you?" He asked his daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you react? Are you a potato, egg or coffee bean?"
Moral: In life, things happen around us, things happen to us, but the only thing that really matters is how you react to it and what it makes of it. Life is about adapting to all inclinations, adapting, and converting all the struggles we experience into something positive.
