The Dreaming Priest
Long ago there lived a priest who was extremely lazy and
poor at the same time. He did not want to work hard but dreamed of being rich
one day. He received his food by asking for alms. One morning he received a pot
of milk as part of alms. He was very happy and went home with a pot of milk. He
boiled milk, drank some of it and put the remaining milk in a pot. He added a
little curd to the pot to convert the milk into curd. He then lay down to
sleep.
Soon he started fantasizing about the pot of yogurt while he
was sleeping. He dreamed that if he could somehow become rich, all his
sufferings would go away. His ideas turned into the milk pot he had set out to
make yogurt. He dreamed; "By the morning the pot of milk will be set, it
will be turned into curd. I will churn the curd and make butter from it. I will
heat the butter and extract ghee from it. Then I will go to that market and
sell it. Ghee, and some Make money. With that money I will buy a hen. The hen
will lay eggs which will lay eggs and there will be many hens. This hen will
give hundreds of eggs in return and I will soon have a hen farm. My own. "
He kept imagining.
"I will sell all the hens of my hen and buy some cows,
and open a milk dairy. All the people of the city will buy milk from me. I will
become very rich and soon I will buy jewelry. The king will buy all the
jewelry. From me. I will become so rich that I will be able to marry an
exceptionally beautiful girl from a rich family. Soon I will have a beautiful
son. If he does any mischief I will be
very angry and to teach him a lesson, I will give him a big Will be hit by a
stick. ”During this dream, he inadvertently picked up the stick next to his bed
and, thinking that he was beating his son, picked up the stick and hit the pot.
The milk pot broke and he Woke up from his day dream.
