A Soldiers Story | English story
A story is told of a soldier who was finally coming home after fighting in Vietnam. He called his parents from San Francisco. "Mom and Dad, I'm coming home, but I'm doing me a favor to ask." I have a friend whom I would like to bring home with me "Sure," he replied, "We like to meet them."
"You must know something," the son continued, "he was very badly hurt in the fight." He set foot on a ground mind and lost an arm and a leg. He doesn't have it anymore, and I want him to come with us. "
"I'm sorry to hear that, son, maybe we can help him find somewhere to live."
"No, Mom and Dad, I want him to be with us."
"Son," the father said, "you don't know what you're asking. Someone with such a handicap will be a terrible burden on us. We have our own lives to live, and we are in our lives like this Can't interfere. I think you should come home and forget this man. He will find a way to live on his own. "
At that time, the son hung up. The parents heard nothing more than that. However, a few days later, he received a call from the San Francisco Police. His son died after falling from a building, he was told. Police considered it a suicide.
Unhappy parents flew to San Francisco and were taken to the city's morgue to identify their son's body. They recognized him, but their terror also revealed something they did not know, their son had only one arm and one leg.
Moral: Parents are like many of us in this story. We find it easy to love people who are good-looking or fun to be around, but we don't like people who make us uncomfortable or make us feel uncomfortable. We will stay away from people who are not as healthy, beautiful, or smart as we are. Thankfully, there is someone who does not treat us like that. Someone who loves us unconditionally who welcomes us in the family forever, no matter how messed up we are. Tonight, before you tuck yourself in for the night, make a small prayer that God will give you the strength you need to accept people as they are, and we all need more of those people Help to understand who are different from us!
