The wolf and the lamb | English story
Once there was a mischievous lamb. His mother always loved
her child so much that she was concerned about the safety of the child. His
mother always warned him, "Be careful! You should not go to the forest.
Wild animals live there. They can threaten you. Sometimes they ate you.
"But the mischievous lamb never listened. The lamb carelessly walked into
the woods and played there until it was dark in the evening.
One day, as usual, the lamb wandered far into the forest.
There he saw a waterfall. "I'm thirsty. Let me drink some water," he
thought. He decided to get water from the waterfall for his thirst. When the
lamb was drinking water in the spring, a wolf looked from behind a tree.
"A lamb! My lucky day!" The wolf thought,
approaching the lamb. Lamb did not know about wolves for some time. There was
none other than these two animals to save the sheep from wolves.
You know that this forest belongs only to wild
animals like me. Why have you come here to get water from this waterfall?
The wolf asked.
The lamb knew that the wolves were dangerous animals.
"Mother has warned me about wolves. I'm sure this fellow wants to eat me
for her lunch. This fellow is cruel. I should avoid this animal, ”he thought.
The wolf said, "You are also polluting the water.
Now how will I drink this polluted water? "
"But the waterfall flows from where you stand where
I stand, sir!" The lamb said in a soft voice. The wolf was
surprised to hear such a wise answer from the wolf. But the wolf was just
looking. An excuse to kill a wolf. "How dare you argue with me? I think
you're the same sheep that abused me last year," the wolf shouted.
"Last year? Bur sir, I wasn't even born then!" The
lamb shouted. The lamb feared that the wolves were looking for excuses to kill
the sheep. Lamb became wary of his words and gestures. It was spoken by both
sheep and wolves. Each other carefully.
The lamb heard some woodcutter. They were coming from the
path in which the lamb and the wolf were standing. "" If I can
talk to this wolf for a while, the loggers will stay here. They would follow
him, "the clever lamb thought. So, he said," Mr. Wolf, you're right.
I have polluted the water. But, I did not mean to disturb you. "
In this way the lamb kept talking for a few more minutes.
The lumberjack came as the lamb spoke. They saw both sheep and wolves.
They caught the wolf and beat him before leaving. The lamb
was relieved to be safe. He ran back to his mother. He told his mother what had
happened to the wolf and the woodcutter in the forest. And then he promised his
mother that he would never wander in the forest again.
