Moral Story : Pundit and Rich man | English Story

Pundit and Rich man | English Story

There was a priest in the village. He was well versed in all the scriptures. He knew everything, but, he was poor. He did not have a home. He also received his food with great difficulties. Even his clothes were very worn.

So, Pandit used to beg for his food. He used to go begging from house to house. "Please beggar me". Seeing her old clothes, many people were thinking that she is crazy. Therefore, he closed the door, saying "Go away". He did not even eat food for several days.

Once somehow he got new clothes. A rich man gave those clothes to Pandit. Wearing those new clothes, he went to beg as before. To go home first, the homeowner said, "Sir, please come in. Please have your meal at our house". Thus, with great respect, he took the Pandit inside for food.

The Pandit sat down to eat food. A variety of soups, sweet food, Vedas and sweet items were served for eating.

After praying first, the Pandit took a dessert from his hand and started feeding his new clothes, saying, "Eat, eat!"

Seeing that all the householders were surprised and unable to understand. Thus, he asked, "Don't eat clothes right? Why O, great pundit, do you provide food to clothes?"

Then the Pandit replied in this way, "Actually you gave me food today because of this new garment. Yesterday in this house you told me to go away. Since I received food because of these clothes, I am grateful to them. That's why I'm feeding them. The housemates were a little shy.

Moral: Never judge anyone from their point of view.
